Code of Conduct
At Next Step PA, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive community for all members. As an organization supporting aspiring Physician Associates, we believe professionalism begins long before graduate school, and that starts with how we engage with one another.
By joining NSPA, all members agree to uphold the following expectations:
Respect & Professionalism
All members are expected to engage with others in a respectful, professional manner. This applies to interactions with fellow members, board members, guest speakers, and community partners.
Commitment to a Safe Community
NSPA maintains a strict, zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment, discrimination, bullying, or behavior that creates and unsafe or unwelcoming environment - whether in person or online.
This includes (but is not limited to):
-
Hate speech or discriminatory remarks
-
Unwanted or inappropriate messaging
-
Disruptive behavior at events or online forums
Confidentiality
Members may share personal information, application details, or sensitive topics in our spaces. What is shared in confidence should remain in confidence. Do not distribute screenshots, recordings, or private content without explicit approval.
Event Responsibility
If you sign up for an event (e.g., volunteer opportunity, workshop, guest speaker session), please attend or cancel in advance so others may take your place. Repeated no-shows may result in restricted access to future sign-ups.
Use of Resources
Content is intended for your personal use only. Please do not share private resource links, documents, or internal discussion threads outside of NSPA without express permission.
Representing NSPA
When participating in events or using NSPA-affiliated opportunities, members are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects the values of the organization and the broader pre-PA community.
Accountability & Violations
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:
-
A formal warning
-
Temporary suspension of access
-
Permanent removal from NSPA, depending on severity
All concerns or reports of misconduct can be sent confidentially to: nspacommunity@gmail.com
